5 Ingredient Apple Crisp

Not your grandma's butter-and-sugar-filled delicious family recipe, but a great healthy alternative for when you don't feel like going all out or are looking for a lighter option. Gluten free, dairy free, vegan, oil free, and only FIVE ingredients!Printable recipe below.[recipe title="Clean Apple Crisp" difficulty="easy" servings="8"]Ingredients:

    • 1 C GF rolled oats (my favorite is One Degree Organics- no glyphosate!)
    • 1 C almond flour
    • 1/4 C + 1.5 T pure maple syrup
    • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon, divided use
    • 4 medium sized granny smith apples

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF and grease an 8x8" or 9x9" baking dish, set aside
  2. Peel and thinly slice your apples (about 1/4" thick slices)
  3. Add 1.5 T maple syrup and 1/2 tsp cinnamon, mix until apples are evenly coated
  4. Transfer apples to baking dish
  5. Use the now empty bowl to combine the remaining ingredients until well mixed and crumbly
  6. Spread evenly on top of apple mixture
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes... best enjoyed warm with vanilla bean ice cream :-) I like to use the leftovers for breakfast with some Greek yogurt and some peanut butter drizzle!
